Jeep Dealerships Offer Off Road Advice

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Your local Jeep dealerships know that off roading is one of the most exciting things you can do with your Jeep.

The Jeep was designed, originally, to travel through just about any kind of terrain you can find. Whether you’re driving through the woods or across town, a Jeep is the best vehicle to be in.

When you do decide to go off road with your Jeep, there are some things to keep in mind:

  • Always drive within your ability. Make sure you take your time driving on the trail, so that you can pick a smooth path and you can react to changing terrain. If you go too fast, you could cause all sorts of problems, from a hole in your oil pan to knocking off your oil filter.
  • Look ahead. Always keep an eye out for what’s coming. Survey the road before you enter it, if possible. You want to make sure that there’s not a cliff, or just a dead end before you get there.
  • Drive straight. Driving diagonally down hills or steep terrain will increase your likelihood of a rollover.
  • Try to cross obstacles like logs or ditches so that only one wheel is going over the obstacle at a time. This helps the vehicle to be able to climb over.

Following these four simple tips when taking your Jeep off road will save you all sorts of headaches.

Hyundai Dealers to See Sonata Hybrid in 2010

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

In August, Hyundai made the announcement that a hybrid version of their Sonata sedan will be hitting Hyundai dealers in 2010. This will be the first hybrid that Hyundai will offer in the United States. There had been speculation previously that some of Hyundai’s subcompact cars would be available as Hybrids in the United States, but those proved to be rumors.

The Sonata Hybrid will rely on lithium ion batteries, which is the same sort of battery you might find in your camera or laptop computer. It is expected that the Sonata Hybrid sedan will get close to 30 miles per gallon in the city, and even more on the highway. Like the Toyota Camry Hybrid and the Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid, the Sonata Hybrid will get a significant boost in fuel economy over the non-hybrid version of the car.

While gas prices continue to fluctuate, the market for hybrid vehicles seems to be increasing. Even if gasoline doesn’t stay near $4 per gallon, its likely that the demand for hybrid cars will continue to grow as more consumers become aware of and concerned about environmental issues.

Don’t wait until 2010 to look at a Hyundai. We’ve got plenty of fuel efficient Hyundai vehicles today, and there’s one that will suit your lifestyle and your needs.

Chevrolet Dealer Looks At Alternative Fuel Sources

Friday, September 19th, 2008

The Chevy Volt will be the most exciting car to arrive at your Chevrolet dealer for years to come. The plug-in hybrid will be able to go 40 miles without using one drop of gas, and consumers are excited about the possibilities and the vast savings that will come with the Volt.

Still, Chevrolet isn’t stopping its fuel efficient activities with just the Volt. Chevrolet is looking forward to being able to one day release the Chevrolet Equinox, which will be a vehicle powered by hydrogen fuel cells.

Hydrogen fuel cells are similar to batteries. However, rather than storing electricity, they create a chemical reaction that lets hydrogen be used for fuel. Hydrogen is a very abundant thing, much more readily available than oil.

The biggest thing holding fuel cell vehicles back, however, is the lack of a national infrastructure of refueling stations. General Motors is working with Royal Dutch Shell to try to get as many as 40 hydrogen fuel cell refueling stations set up in the LA area, and is looking beyond that to spreading fuel cell station technology to the largest U.S. cities within a decade.

In addition, Chevrolet expects to release electric-only cars within the next few years, offering more fuel efficient alternatives for consumers.

New Jersey Dealership Encourages Sheep In Jeep

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

SHEEP IN JEEP

When you’re looking at a new Jeep at your New Jersey dealership, you might think about Nancy Shaw.

Nancy Shaw is the author of a children’s book. The book is called Sheep in a Jeep, and it is illustrated by Margot Apple. Sheep in a Jeep is not only a wonderful read for your child, it’s a neat way to get your child interested in Jeeps.

Sheep in a Jeep tells the tale of five foolish sheep. The sheep decide, one day, that they all need to try to fit together into a Jeep. They then proceed on a hilariously funny road trip. The sheep drive through mud puddles, fall over a hill, and have all sorts of comical adventures in their Jeep.

What makes this book especially cool for your children is the rhymes. The rhymes of Sheep in a Jeep have a humorous yet educational feel to them, much like the classic Dr. Seuss books. Here’s an example line or two from Sheep in Jeep:

“Jeep goes splash!
Jeep goes thud!
Jeep goes deep in gooey mud!”

Margot Apple illustrates these sheep with plenty of interesting facial expressions and lots of humor.

When you go to check out a new Jeep at your New Jersey dealership, why not bring Sheep in a Jeep along for your child? It may help her feel like an important part of the car buying process, and provide your entire family with some laughs in the process.

Chevy Dealership Talks New Car Buying

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

When you go down to your Chevrolet dealer to buy a new car, it can get to be a bit overwhelming. There are many different things that go into the process of choosing a vehicle. Sometimes, it can be hard to know how to begin.

Here are some of the things you need to think about when you’re buying a new car at your Chevrolet dealer:

  • Size. You want to make sure the car you buy is big enough for your passengers. If you have five children, for example, you’re going to need a very different car than if you just need a commuting vehicle. In addition, you need to make sure there’s enough space for any cargo you might need to haul.
  • Type of driving. If you have a long daily commute on the highway, you probably want to get the most fuel efficient car you can get. On the other hand, if you do most of your driving in the city, you might consider a hybrid as they get much better city gas mileage.
  • Transmission. If you don’t know how to drive a stick shift or don’t want to learn, make sure you get a car with an automatic transmission.
  • Safety. Figure out what safety features are important to you. If head side curtain airbags are important, ask about having them added to the vehicle.

Hyundai Dealership Celebrates Fuel Efficiency Honors

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

Overall fuel efficiency rose in 2008, thanks in part to your local Hyundai dealership. According to new estimates, the average efficiency of new cars and trucks rose in 2008. Hyundai Motor Co. was a big part of that process. Its fleet averages 22.6 miles per gallon, just 1 mile per gallon behind the leader Honda Motor Co., and .8 miles per gallon behind Toyota Motor Corp.

These estimates, made by the EPA, were based on sales projections for the 2008 model year. What’s especially worth noting about that is the fact that these estimates occurred when gas was selling between $2.50 and $3.00 per gallon, which is significantly below today’s prices.

It is these rising gas prices that may have an impact on the next set of fuel efficiency figures that come out. As fuel prices have risen, people are buying more and more fuel efficient vehicles. Sales of trucks, SUVs and larger cars are dropping. In the meantime, subcompact, compact, and midsize cars have grown more and more popular.

If you’re interested in a fuel effeicient car, come see us. We’re your local Hyundai dealer, and we want to help you find the most effecient car to meet your needs. We’re proud to have one of the most fuel effecient fleets in the country.

New Jersey Dealership Features More Economical Chevy Cobalt

Monday, September 15th, 2008

As your New Jersey dealership can tell you, the high prices of gasoline have turned the market for smaller cars around. More and more, people are buying smaller cars that just use less gas than bigger cars. A great example of this is the Chevy Cobalt. The good news here is that the new Chevy Cobalt may even get better gas mileage than the current version.

The XFE model Cobalt is designed to get better fuel economy than other vehicles. The Cobalt uses low rolling-resistance tires, a specific gear ratio, as well as a revised engine calibration, to give it a 9 percent boost in fuel economy over previous versions of the vehicle.

The Cobalt XFE features a 2.2 liter, 155-horsepower four cylinder engine with a five-speed manual transmission. The changes that have been made to the Cobalt have been relatively inexpensive, but the payoff at the gas pump is substantial. As a bonus, the Cobalt actually drives really well, too. It’s handling is excellent, as is its acceleration.

If you’re in the market for a car with amazing fuel economy, look no further than the Chevy Cobalt. Visit your New Jersey dealership today, and we can help you find the right Chevrolet to fit your lifestyle and your budget.

Hyundai i10 May Come To U.S. Hyundai Dealers

Monday, September 15th, 2008

One of the newest cars that may begin to show up at Hyundai dealers is the Hyundai i10. The i10 is a premium hatchback, and has been very successful to this point in India. The car has been sold in many countries around the globe. It has not yet been sold in the United States, however. There has been intense competition in the compact car market in the United States, and there has been relatively poor demand.

However, Hyundai recently announced that it may try to bring the i10 to American shores. The i10 gets 54 miles per gallon, and it will fit right into a market that has seen rising fuel costs.

The i10 will have to be modified, however, in order to be sold in the United States. The most significant modifications have to do with safety features that need to be added to meet U.S. regulatory demands. It is expected that these changes will increase the weight of the i10 by as much as 400 pounds.

Don’t wait for the Hyundai i10. Your local Hyundai dealership has a car right now that will meet your needs. Come see us today and check out what Hyundai has to offer you.
