New Car NJ Dealer Offers Facts about New Legislation

Friday, January 30th, 2009

As a public service, your new car NJ dealer would like to let you know about a new piece of legislation working its way through the state’s House and Senate. This new bill would require drivers convicted of drunk driving to have an ignition lock placed on their vehicles. This attachment would work as a breathalyzer for the driver. If it senses alcohol on the driver’s breath, it locks the ignition so the car eill not start.

The proposal will make it necessary for first-time DUI drivers whose blood-alcohol level was .15 or higher to have this ignition lock installed on their vehicle. It also gives judges more leeway when deciding who should be mandated to have these locks and for how long they should have them.

Drunken driving accidents are certainly something that can and should be avoided. It’s sad that we as a society have to take measures like this prevent something completely preventable. How do you feel about proposals like this? Do you think it is too harsh or do you think actions like this are necessary in order to reduce the number of drunk drivers on the roads? Your Monmouth Junction area Jeep dealer would love to hear your thoughts below.

Friday, January 30th, 2009

The Hyundai Motor Company has already purchased several advertising spots for Sunday’s Super Bowl between the Steelers and the Cardinals. One spot is going to feature a new song by the Smashing Pumpkins, another ad is going to have a song played by Yo Yo Ma. But Hyundai wanted to go even further in gaining exposure and making its name known.

Hyundai plans to focus on three messages throughout each of its advertising spots. One focus is placed on the new 2010 Genesis Coupe that is coming to the North American market in the spring. Another focus is placed on the Genesis sedan’s “2009 North American Car of the Year” award. Finally, Hyundai wants to bring more attention to its Assurance Program which allows buyers to return their new Hyundai if they lose their income involuntarily.

New Jersey Dealership Encourages Drivers to Take AARP Class

Friday, January 30th, 2009

In an effort to increase driver awareness and safety on the state’s roads, your New Jersey dealership encourages you to participate in the upcoming AARP Driver Safety Program. The program is taking place on February 9 and 10 and the South Jersey Healthcare Elmer Hospital at 501 West Front Street and drivers of all ages are welcome.

Drivers who attend and complete both courses will receive a certificate of completion. They can then that the certificate to their insurance company to qualify for a five percent discount on their premium. If they have points on their license, the certificate will also reduce those points by two.

The program includes a refresher classroom course designed for older drivers, but all ages are encouraged to attend. Defensive driving techniques, safety and new traffic laws will be the focus of the program. Instructors will also teach older drivers how to make proper adjustments to accommodate for changes in hearing, vision and reflexes.

AARP members can take both courses for a cost of $12 while non-members are charged $14. It’s worth the price to get the reduction in insurance costs, though. The program may also make you feel more comfortable about going to your Bound Brook area Chevrolet dealer and driving away in a new or certified pre-owned car. Either way, learning how to be a safer driver is a responsibility we all need to share.

Hyundai Dealership Offers Tips for Dealing with Road Rage

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

It’s inevitable that each of us will make a mistake on the roads at least one time in our life. Hopefully, our mistake isn’t fatal and does not cause an accident. There is a chance, however, that a mistake will cause someone to “lose their cool” and want to come after us. That’s called “road rage.” If someone gets angry at you on the road and wants to be a jerk, your Hyundai dealership offers these tips to follow for your own safety.

1. Stay calm. If you try to fight back or stoop to their level, it will only make the situation worse. Chances are that they will only be furious for a few seconds before realizing how stupid they are being.
2. Call the police. If you feel like you are in danger and the other driver is out of control, call the police. The mad driver may settle down if they think you are talking to the police.
3. Keep your eyes on the road. You may have the urge to watch the driver to see what they are doing, but keep your eyes on the road so you don’t make another mistake that could be worse than the one you just committed.

Your East Brunswick area Hyundai dealer wants you to stay safe when you’re behind the wheel of your car. Follow these tips and remember to drive safely at all times and it will help everybody get to where they are going without incident.

New Jersey Dealership Happy about Return of Jeep Workers

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Your New Jersey dealership is happy to announce that many Jeep employees have returned to work at the Toledo plant this week. The Jeep assembly facility shut down before Christmas and this is the first time the workers have been able to punch their time cards since then.

David Jones, one of the Jeep employees at the plant, had this to say about returning to work: “You feel great about going back because now you can make more money (and you can) be productive.”

And although some are not getting their hopes up about long-term employment at the plant, some workers are confident in the new Jeep products which will help provide work for the employees. An all-electric Jeep product which is in the company’s long-term plans offers a sense of optimism for some workers.

Lately, there’s a story in the news every day about another company getting rid of thousands of employees simply because they cannot afford them anymore. It’s refreshing to hear stories like this one about a company bringing workers back. Show your support for the automaker by visiting your Avenel area Jeep dealer and checking out their products. You may find something you never even thought of before!

Chevrolet Dealer Discusses New Program for Senior Drivers

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Your Chevrolet dealer knows there are few things worse for senior drivers than being forced to give up their keys. Unfortunately, it’s a reality that many older drivers cannot escape.

But a new program in Florida could change those fears and spread to other parts of the nation as well. The Independent Transportation Network, or ITN, is a service that runs 24 hours a day and seven days a week for seniors. They can go anywhere they need to go while somebody else does the driving.

The program was started by a woman in Maine. One of her family members was struck by an 84-year-old driver who should not have been behind the wheel. She wanted to give older drivers another opportunity to go where they need to go without getting behind the wheel and putting other lives at risk.

If the program can attract enough drivers in the areas in which it will be available in Florida, it will kick off in March. “In order to launch our rides, we have to have at least 35 – I would like 50 – volunteer drivers recruited and trained, ready to go to start first rides the end of March,” said one person involved with the effort.

If you’d like to help a good cause like this, you can donate your car and get a good tax deduction for it. You can then replace your car with a new one from your Elizabeth area Chevrolet dealer. That way you can help yourself and others at the same time!

Jeep Dealerships Discuss Obama’s New Plan

Monday, January 26th, 2009

It’s nearly impossible to get away from political discussions these days. That’s why your New Jersey Jeep dealerships want to discuss the new push from President Obama towards cleaner and more efficient cars.

Today, President Obama opened a “double-barreled assault on global warming and U.S. energy woes,” according to a recent article. He vowed to look for alternatives to foreign oil in order to reduce our dependence on other hostile nations for that one precious commodity. His major plan is to make it easier for states to enact stricter emission standards while making new federal rules to force automakers “to start making more fuel-efficient cars as required by law.”

Whether you agree with his policies or not, we should all strive to be more responsible citizens toward the environment. One of the ways we can do that is to choose more efficient and cleaner-burning vehicles. However, many opponents of the new regulations say his enthusiasm to make these changes so quickly could cost consumers thousands of dollars on new “greener” cars. Many also think these quick changes are unnecessary considering the fact that global warming came in last in a list of 20 things Americans are concerned about these days.

Either way, you can get a fuel-efficient car right now at your Denville area Jeep dealer before the new regulations cause prices to skyrocket. Check one out today!

Chevy Dealership Warns of Sirius XM Rate Hike

Monday, January 26th, 2009

If you wanted to get Sirius XM Radio installed in your new car once you buy it from your Union area Chevrolet dealer, now is the perfect time to do it. Sirius XM Radio recently announced the prices are going up for new and renewing subscribers.

The price hike is planned to occur on March 11. Therefore, if you want to avoid the additional $2 charge and $2.99 fee for Internet radio, you can buy a three-year subscription now and lock in your current rate.

Sirius XM Radio is raising its prices to help pay off some of the debt the merged company has accumulated. And since Sirius XM Radio is the only service of its kind, they can pretty much do whatever they want to do because there is no competition for customers to consider.

Satellite radio has many benefits. Many stations are commercial-free and you have many more options to choose from than you do with terrestrial radio. If you can afford the subscription rates, satellite radio is a perfect addition to any new or certified used car that you purchase from your Chevy dealership. Check it out today and you’ll be hooked! Just be sure to do it before March 11 for the best available subscriptions rates.

Hyundai Dealer Excited about Next Season of 24

Monday, January 26th, 2009

The new season of Fox’s 24 will likely give your Somerville area Hyundai dealer a boost in sales and recognition. That’s because Jack Bauer is going to use a new Hyundai to fight terrorism in the United States and save the world!

A Hyundai spokesperson confirmed that the automaker is going to have a prominent presence and product-integration sponsorship in 24′s seventh season, which began airing recently. “We’re delighted with the exposure we have received from one of the top-rated shows on TV,” he explained. “It’s a great way to open eyes to our terrific products.”

Data from Nielsen IAG shows that “Hyundai’s integrations on the show were twice as effective as brand messaging elsewhere in primetime, with brand recall 124 percent higher than for other primetime shows.” In layman’s terms, that means that viewers are recognizing the Hyundai brand a lot more than other brands. The fact that 24 is one of the network’s most influential programs for new cars is only going to help the popularity of cars at your Hyundai dealer explode!

Hyundai also has ads slated to run during this year’s Super Bowl. With all of this advertising in high places, it’s no wonder that your Hyundai dealer is one of the most popular places to visit for a great deal on a new or certified used car.

New Jersey Dealership Warns about Deadly Driving Times

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

If you’re like most drivers, you probably thought Friday afternoon rush hour was the most dangerous time to be on the roads. You probably also think that winter driving causes more accidents than summer driving. But your New Jersey dealership wants to bring your attention to this article that dispels those beliefs.

Information reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) shows that Saturday is the most dangerous day to drive on the highways. In addition to that, data shows that August is the deadliest month on the roads. In fact, in 2008, 800 more people died as a result of traffic accidents in August than in January. One of the reasons for this difference may be due to the fact that drivers tend to be more cautious when the roads are covered with snow. Many drivers may even opt to stay home when the snow starts falling, reducing the number of people on the roads during the winter months.

The overwhelming majority (95 percent) of traffic accidents occur as a result of human error. Distracted driving is a major contributor to this percentage as drivers lose their focus when they decide to text, talk on a cell phone, eat or take their eyes off the road to change the radio station.

Your Bound Brook area Chevrolet dealer encourages you to adjust your driving habits to be safer. We have to share the roads, so it’s important that each driver is as responsible as they can be.
