Jeep Dealerships Offer Tips for Saving on Insurance

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

With gas prices going back up and other commodities getting more expensive, your Jeep dealerships know how important it is to save money where it is possible. As such, your Jeep dealerships want to offer some tips to save money on your auto insurance. Here are some common tips that could save you hundreds of dollars on your premiums each year.

1. Choose a higher deductible. Many motorists choose the lowest deductible possible for their auto insurance, but this is unnecessary and costly. When you choose a higher deductible, you can put the money you save each month into an interest-bearing account and come out ahead financially.

2. Evaluate the number of miles your drive. Many policies are based on how far you drive each month or year. Make sure you have realistically calculated your average miles so you are not paying for insurance that covers you for more miles than you normally drive.

3. Install safety features. You will get a discount on your insurance policy if you have anti-theft and other safety features installed on your vehicle. A simple alarm could save you a bunch of money on your annual premiums.

With all the money you’ll save on your insurance with these tips, you can afford a down payment for a new car at your Monmouth Junction Jeep dealer. Check us out today and see what’s available for as your next vehicle!

Jeep Dealerships Offer Winter Driving Tips

Monday, January 5th, 2009

We’re in the dead of winter and there is no sign of spring coming anytime soon. That’s why your Jeep dealerships want to offer some winter driving tips to help you stay safe on the slippery roads. Here are some of those tips, directly from your Jeep dealerships to your computer screen.

1. Slow down. The best thing to do when driving in winter weather is to slow down. When you’re going slower, you have more time to react if you hit a patch of ice and the possibilities of skidding out of control are greatly reduced.

2. Don’t slam on the brakes. Slamming on the brakes on snow and ice will simply make you skid out of control. Be gentle with the brakes and you’ll be able to control your car much better and avoid more accidents.

3. Carry an emergency kit. There’s a good chance of getting stuck in the snow when driving in the winter. Keep a shovel and some salt in the back of your car to help you get unstuck in case this happens.

Of course, getting a four-wheel drive Jeep from your Avenel area Jeep dealer is a great way to stay safer in snowy weather. Visit one today because we still have a couple months of treacherous winter weather to get through!

Jeep Dealerships Offer Ways to Save Money on Vehicle Maintenance

Friday, January 2nd, 2009

If you’re like many people who made resolutions for 2009, you have resolved to save money and budget better this year. Your Jeep dealerships want to help you keep this resolution and, as a result, we offer these tips to help you save money on car maintenance.

1. Do some repairs yourself. If you don’t know anything about cars, you probably don’t want to start by rebuilding your own transmission. But you can start by replacing your own windshield wipers, battery and other small things and work your way up to more complicated repairs as you learn more.
2. Find a reliable and honest mechanic. Finding a mechanic that you trust is as difficult as finding a good doctor, but it’s worth the search. When you frequent a mechanic, you are more likely to build a cordial relationship and trust them more.
3. Carpool. Carpooling reduces the number of miles you put on your car in a given year. Fewer miles means less maintenance.

Your Denville area Jeep dealer urges you to take care of your vehicle in a cost-effective manner in 2009. Following these tips will help you do that.

When to Get New Brakes on your NJ Car

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Regardless of which quality Jeep vehicle you drive off the lot of your Jeep dealer near Monmouth Junction, you’re eventually going to need some brake work. Knowing the warning signs is the first step in making sure that you don’t pay more than you need to, and that you keep safe on the road.

One of the most common signs that you need new brakes is a high pitched squeal. This squeal usually means that your brake pads are ready for replacement. The noise is created when a thin piece of metal in your brake pads is exposed and begins to rub against the rest of the brakes. In some cases, you might hear a similar noise if your brakes are wet. However, if you hear this noise frequently, it’s time to replace those brake pads.

Grinding is another sign that you need new brakes. More often than not, having your brakes grind means a serious problem. It’s likely that your brake pads are worn completely. The other parts of your brake are now exposed, and grinding metal upon metal. If you hear this kind of noise, you need to get your brakes serviced immediately.

If you listen carefully for signs your brakes are failing, you can avoid many costly repairs.

New Jersey Dealership Considers Wrangler History

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

The Jeep Wrangler isn’t a newcomer to your Jeep dealer near Avenel. In fact, the Jeep Wrangler can trace its history all the way back to those original Jeeps first produced for World War II. After World War II the Jeep CJ appeared, which was eventually replaced by the Wrangler.

The first generation of the Jeep Wrangler is known as the Wrangler YJ. This Wrangler began production in 1987, and were made in Brampton, Ontario from 1987 until 1992. This Jeep had a soft and a hard top version. You could choose from three different engine choices and from four different transmissions for the Wrangler YJ.

The Jeep Wranger TJ was the second generation of the Wrangler. It was made beginning in 1997, and was made for ten years until 2007. Here again, you could get either a soft or a hard top. There were the same number of engine and transmission selections, as well

Today’s Jeep Wrangler is the KJ model. It’s the first Wrangler to offer four doors. It offers several trim levels, but only one engine and two transmission choices.

Jeep Dealerships Talk Tow Hooks and Front Hitches

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Your Denville-area Jeep dealer knows that Jeep is the best brand of vehicle you can take off road. Since the early days, Jeeps have been designed with the idea that they can get anywhere.

One of the things to think about when taking your Jeep off road is how to get your jeep unstuck in those instances where it becomes stuck. This process, known as recovery, can be accomplished in one of two ways, with either a front hitch or with tow hooks.

Tow hooks have a fairly small footprint, and they look like standard equipment. However, they’re not always the best way to get unstuck. When you use tow hooks for recovery, you have to take care of the angle you use so they don’t break or bend. In addition, when you use tow hooks, your Jeep is only being pulled one side at a time. Tow hooks are ideal if you don’t get stuck very often.

The serious off road enthusiast needs something more extreme, however. A front hitch provides much more stable and reliable recovery. It isn’t likely that a front hitch will break or even bend. However, it does hang lower than tow hooks and lessens your approach angle. Still, a front hitch is idea for when you expect to do a lot of recovery.

How to Care for your New NJ Car’s Soft Top

Friday, November 21st, 2008

At your Monmouth Junction area Jeep dealer, we know what your Jeep means to you. More than just a car, your Jeep is an extension of your personality. You want to take care of your Jeep the best you can, so that it will last you for years to come.

One of the best ways to care for your Jeep is to take care of your soft top. Caring for your soft top means several things. When it comes to the windows, for example, you should never move them when they’re frozen, as they can shatter. You should always use a towel against the glass of your soft top, and don’t allow the glass to make contact with itself or you can wind up with scratches. Your windows need to be cleaned with warm water and dish detergent, not window cleaner.

How you care for the rest of your top is important, too. For example, don’t use an automatic car wash or a self-serve pressure wash. These kinds of cleaning processes might scratch your windows or cause damage to your soft top’s seams. Use protectant on your soft top if your Jeep is stored outside. It’s recommended that you treat it around once a month.

With a little extra attention, you can make sure your soft top lasts a very long time.

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

Jeep Dealership looks at the 2008 Jeep Compass

Monday, November 17th, 2008

One of the best values you can find at your Jeep dealer near Denville is the 2008 Jeep Compass. Its low price, small size, plenty of headroom and its steering that’s very responsive offers you some of the best of the Jeep world.

The Jeep Compass is Jeep’s small car-based crossover SUV. It was introduced in 2007, and in many ways is different from Jeeps that have come before. The Compass isn’t trail rated, for example. What that means is, essentially, that Jeep doesn’t make any guarantees about the Compass doing well in rough off-road situations.

The Jeep Compass may not shine on the trail, but it does shine on the street. The Compass is an easy-going vehicle. It’s a Jeep that handles like a car, which makes it much easier to use in an urban setting than many other jeeps. The Compass comes optionally with a 4WD system, which does give it some off road potential. However, the “Freedom Drive” as it is known is designed for use during inclement weather conditions, rather than on the trail.

The 2008 model of the Jeep Compass features air conditioning and chrome accents as standard. It features a limited lifetime powertrain warranty, as well as changes to the powertrain that make the ride more smooth and quiet.

The steering column telescopes and tilts, had has bezels that house the center switches for vehicle information. The Limited trim level gives you chrome accents and dual tone leather, while the Overland trim level adds a wood rim. The instrument panel uses bright LED lights, letting you see anytime you need to.
