Chevy Dealership Features Tahoe Hybrid

Monday, October 27th, 2008

When you think about fuel efficient hybrid vehicles from your Chevy dealership, you probably don’t think “SUV.” However, your local Chevrolet Dealer near Union has just that: a hybrid SUV.

The Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid is the perfect vehicle for the person or family that needs the space of an SUV but doesn’t want to pay outrageous prices at the gas pump just to fill the tank. The Tahoe Hybrid gets 21 miles per gallon in the city and 22 miles per gallon on the highway. That’s no small feat for a vehicle of this size. It’s no surprise, then, that the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid has just been named the Green Car of the Year by the Green Car Journal.

One of the biggest reasons that the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid won this distinction is that it gets better mileage than any other V8. In fact, it is estimated that the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid gets around 30 percent better mileage than other SUVs with a V8 engine. In addition, the high city gas mileage rating was a factor in the decision, as that 21 miles per gallon is an especially impressive figure.

Many prominent people are on the jury for the Green Car Journal. It includes Jay Leno, Carroll Shelby, as well as people from the Sierra Club, the Worldwatch Institute, the World Resources Institute, and the Ocean Futures Society.

If you’re looking for a powerful SUV that will also save you money at the pump, look no further than the 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid.

New Jersey Dealership Looks At The Dual Mode Hybrid

Friday, October 24th, 2008

The Chevrolet Tahoe is a vehicle that uses a relatively unique technology, known as “two-mode hybrids.” While two-mode hybrid technology isn’t new, it isn’t exactly in common use. A General Motors two-mode hybrid bus, for example, has been operating in 60 cities in North America.

However, the Tahoe hybrid is the first time that a two-mode hybrid is being used in a personal vehicle and made available at your local Chevrolet dealer new Bround Brook. The design came from a collaborative effort between General Motors, Daimler-Chrysler and BMW.

A two-mode hybrid is a combination of electric motors, high-end electroniccs, energy manangement, wiring, and system controls. These elements all work together to keep the vehicle running at its most optimum level of fuel efficiency. It recalculates this fuel effeciency around 100 times each second.

This presents an advantage over a traditional hybrid in that, at any given moment, you can be certain the Tahoe hybrid is getting its optimal fuel efficiency, regardless of driving or environmental factors. Yes, driving faster reduces fuel economy as does city driving, but the Tahoe hybrid is able to get the best possible fuel efficiency for those particular situations.

If you’re looking for a family SUV that’s easy on the gas, look no further than the Chevrolet Tahoe.a  a
