New Jersey Dealership Encourages Drivers to Take AARP Class

Friday, January 30th, 2009

In an effort to increase driver awareness and safety on the state’s roads, your New Jersey dealership encourages you to participate in the upcoming AARP Driver Safety Program. The program is taking place on February 9 and 10 and the South Jersey Healthcare Elmer Hospital at 501 West Front Street and drivers of all ages are welcome.

Drivers who attend and complete both courses will receive a certificate of completion. They can then that the certificate to their insurance company to qualify for a five percent discount on their premium. If they have points on their license, the certificate will also reduce those points by two.

The program includes a refresher classroom course designed for older drivers, but all ages are encouraged to attend. Defensive driving techniques, safety and new traffic laws will be the focus of the program. Instructors will also teach older drivers how to make proper adjustments to accommodate for changes in hearing, vision and reflexes.

AARP members can take both courses for a cost of $12 while non-members are charged $14. It’s worth the price to get the reduction in insurance costs, though. The program may also make you feel more comfortable about going to your Bound Brook area Chevrolet dealer and driving away in a new or certified pre-owned car. Either way, learning how to be a safer driver is a responsibility we all need to share.

New Jersey Dealership Happy about Return of Jeep Workers

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Your New Jersey dealership is happy to announce that many Jeep employees have returned to work at the Toledo plant this week. The Jeep assembly facility shut down before Christmas and this is the first time the workers have been able to punch their time cards since then.

David Jones, one of the Jeep employees at the plant, had this to say about returning to work: “You feel great about going back because now you can make more money (and you can) be productive.”

And although some are not getting their hopes up about long-term employment at the plant, some workers are confident in the new Jeep products which will help provide work for the employees. An all-electric Jeep product which is in the company’s long-term plans offers a sense of optimism for some workers.

Lately, there’s a story in the news every day about another company getting rid of thousands of employees simply because they cannot afford them anymore. It’s refreshing to hear stories like this one about a company bringing workers back. Show your support for the automaker by visiting your Avenel area Jeep dealer and checking out their products. You may find something you never even thought of before!

New Jersey Dealership Warns about Deadly Driving Times

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

If you’re like most drivers, you probably thought Friday afternoon rush hour was the most dangerous time to be on the roads. You probably also think that winter driving causes more accidents than summer driving. But your New Jersey dealership wants to bring your attention to this article that dispels those beliefs.

Information reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) shows that Saturday is the most dangerous day to drive on the highways. In addition to that, data shows that August is the deadliest month on the roads. In fact, in 2008, 800 more people died as a result of traffic accidents in August than in January. One of the reasons for this difference may be due to the fact that drivers tend to be more cautious when the roads are covered with snow. Many drivers may even opt to stay home when the snow starts falling, reducing the number of people on the roads during the winter months.

The overwhelming majority (95 percent) of traffic accidents occur as a result of human error. Distracted driving is a major contributor to this percentage as drivers lose their focus when they decide to text, talk on a cell phone, eat or take their eyes off the road to change the radio station.

Your Bound Brook area Chevrolet dealer encourages you to adjust your driving habits to be safer. We have to share the roads, so it’s important that each driver is as responsible as they can be.

Your Hyundai New Jersey dealership would like to extend an invitation to the three recent lucky lottery winners in the state in the “Jersey Jackpot Raffle.”

On Thursday, the state’s lottery officials announced that the winning tickets were purchased in Ocean, Somerset and Bergen counties. At this time, they did not know if any of the winners claimed their prize. Here are the three raffle ticket numbers and the location where they were sold in case you are one of the lucky winners and you are just now hearing about it.

New Jersey Dealership Offers Tips for Choosing a Mechanic

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Your New Jersey dealership knows that choosing a mechanic is one of the most important (and difficult) tasks of owning a car. How do you choose one that treats you fairly and does good work? Here are some tips to remember from your New Jersey dealership for when you decide to look for a mechanic.

Don’t Wait until It’s Too Late
Trying to find a trustworthy mechanic when you need a major emergency repair is not ideal. Instead, start looking around when you need minor repairs or preventative maintenance. For instance, test one out by getting an oil change to see how they treat you. If you find one that you can trust for minor things, you can build a relationship before major repairs are needed.

Ask for References
These days, you can go online to some of your local websites and see what people are saying about mechanics in your area. Are there a lot of complaints? What types of complaints are they? Also, ask your family and friends about the mechanic they use. If they are pleased, you probably will be, too.

Look for Certifications
A reputable mechanic will have their qualifications and certifications in their facility for everybody to see. Look for these when you are trying new mechanics.

Of course, you can always visit the service garage at your Monmouth Junction area Jeep dealer and get treated fairly. Check us out for your next repairs and we’ll treat you right!

New Jersey Dealership Welcomes Brendan Shanahan

Friday, January 16th, 2009

I’m originally from Flint, Michigan. I’ve rooted for the Detroit Red Wings for more than 25 years. That’s why this story caught my attention.

Your New Jersey dealership would like to welcome Brendan Shanahan to the NJ Devils. Although he played with the New York Rangers for the last two seasons, he’ll always be a Red Wing to me. Shanahan was with the Wings during three of their Stanley Cup wins and he has 1,340 points in 1,490 NHL games. He signed with the Devils in the 1987 NHL draft and currently ranks 11th on the career goal list. In 1991, he left the Devils to play for the St. Louis Blues.

Shanahan scored 23 goals last season in 73 games but still finished with 46 points. Those may not seem like impressive numbers, but those are simply the lowest numbers he’s had since his rookie season more than 20 years ago.

While he’s playing for the New Jersey Devils, we’d like to invite him to visit our Bound Brook area Chevrolet dealer for a great deal on a new or used car. After all, one of the best players in the sport should be behind the wheel of one of the greatest brands in the auto industry.

New Jersey Dealership Offers Tips to Deter Thieves

Friday, January 16th, 2009

Your New Jersey dealership knows that crime and car thefts are on the rise. People are resorting to extreme measures with the current financial climate. We don’t want you to become a victim of car theft, though. That’s why we’re offering these tips on how to deter thieves from getting your car.

1. Do not display decals from your car alarm’s company anywhere on the car. This could give the would-be car thief a clue as to how to disarm your alarm. Keep them guessing and they are less likely to mess with your car.
2. Keep your insurance and registration with you. It has personal information on it that a car thief could use to rob your house or even steal your identity.
3. Always take your keys without. This may seem like a no-brainer, but many car owners lose their cars because they leave their car running as they jump out for a “quick second.” That’s all it takes for a car thief to jump in and speed away.
4. Don’t leave a spare key “hidden.” Thieves know the usual hiding places and they will find it. Just be extra cautious so you never lose your keys or leave them locked inside the car.

Your East Brunswick area Hyundai dealer and your local New Jersey dealership wants you to stay safe without becoming a victim. Use these tips and you’ll be less likely to be the target of car thieves.

New Jersey Dealership Suggests GPS for Teen Drivers

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

If you’re a parent of a teen driver, you know how difficult it is to watch them get behind the wheel and drive away. You never know what awaits them out on the open roads. But your New Jersey dealership suggests installing a GPS device in your car to reduce some of the stress you feel when they take the wheel.

Several prominent auto insurance companies, including AIG, AllState and SafeCo are offering GPS devices and programs like TeenSurance to help you monitor your teens while they are driving. These new devices are ideal for two reasons – you can monitor your teen’s driving habits and you can get a discount on your insurance premiums. The devices offered by these and other insurance companies provide real-time monitoring features so you know where your teen is at any given second.

In addition to these GPS devices, some manufacturers offer similar devices with features that tell you how fast your teen drives and how fast they reached a particular destination. The information is stored on a flash drive that you can remove any time.

Your Avenel area Jeep dealer is committed to safe drivers. We encourage you to utilize these and any other devices you can find to keep your teen drivers safe behind the wheel. You owe it to yourself, other drivers and your family, too.

Get a Great Tailgating Truck at Your New Jersey Dealership

Friday, January 9th, 2009

With the Super Bowl fast approaching, it’s time to start thinking about getting a truck from your New Jersey dealership so you can throw your own tailgating party. Whether you plan on going to the actual game to tailgate or doing it in your own backyard, tailgating is the perfect way to enjoy any football game. Once you have your new tailgating truck from your New Jersey dealership, you can use these tips to make your party a success.

1. Dress the part. Find as many clothes with the same color scheme or with the logo of the team you are cheering for. You can even pull a David Putty from Seinfeld and do some face painting to “support the team” while you’re at it.
2. Bring an ice chest. If you’re going to the stadium’s parking lot, bring some coolers packed with your favorite beverages. Of course, you won’t need much ice since it’ll be the beginning of February
3. Bring a grill. A tailgate party is nothing without a BBQ grill. Bring enough meat to feed people around you and don’t forget the utensils!

While you’re looking for perfect tailgating Chevy truck at your New Jersey dealership, why not invite the guys from your Elizabeth area Chevrolet dealer to your party? It’ll be a blast!

Get the Top-Rated Genesis at Your New Jersey Dealership

Friday, January 9th, 2009

Your local New Jersey dealership that specializes in selling Hyundai cars is proud of the fact that the South Korean automaker’s new luxury vehicle has received good ratings.

Consumer Reports recently named the 2009 Hyundai Genesis as its “top upscale sedan in comparison testing.” That means the 2009 Genesis beat out other popular luxury vehicles like the Lexus ES and others to impress the reviewers at one of the most respected consumer publications in the world. Here are some of the quotes that Consumer Reports had about Hyundai’s first attempt at creating a luxury vehicle:

• “spacious and well appointed”
• “The rear-wheel-drive Genesis offers good value and is a compelling alternative to luxury vehicles costing thousands more.”
• “Solidifies [Hyundai's] reputation as a builder of high-quality vehicles in several diverse automotive segments.”

However, when you visit your Somerville area Hyundai dealer in search of the new Genesis, you may not see the Hyundai logo on the front of this luxury vehicle. That’s because the automaker did not want to take a risk in alienating consumers who do not respect Hyundai as a luxury car manufacturer. Jalopnik, another website that specializes in reporting news in the auto industry, had this to say about the 2009 Hyundai Genesis: “The Genesis easily satisfies the needs of entry-level luxury buyers if they’re willing to look past the badge snobbery.”

I’m sure many people will be willing to look past “the brand” and appreciate the Genesis once they take it for a ride.
